Last night I knew I was going out with friends and I wanted to be able to enjoy the evening and not worry too much about points. So I was really conscious all day of saving points for the evening, and it worked really well! I also gave myself 2 exercise points for "light" housework (the site calculated that for me) so I'd have plenty to work with.
I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast with craisins and brown sugar, which kept me full for 3 hours or so. Then I heated up a bowl of leftover black bean and corn chili for lunch, which is really "cheap" points wise (3 points for a bowl!) and it was filling too. In the middle of the afternoon I had some pita bites, and went to Zupas (super good by the way) for dinner with chris and the girls-- I had a vegetarian broth bean and vegetable soup and a salad, but skipped the bread :). I still had a full 17 points left for the rest of the evening! I was able to go out, have a couple of drinks and share some chips with guacamole and bean dip and not think about how many points it was. When I came home and entered everything I had eaten into the tracker, being really honest with estimating amounts, etc., I ended the day two points in the black. I didn't even use any extra or exercise points!
I'm really proud of myself.
But then I went to Ruth's for brunch today and ate 14.5 points in a single sitting... Guess I'll be eating black bean chili again for dinner :)
The point is that I really felt normal last night and not like I was dieting, all because I had planned ahead.
